What?

Developmental screening for children 18 months to school age.

Promotes healthy child development.

Screens speech and language, motor skills, social development and nutrition.

Ontario born children should have their hearing screened at birth.

All services are free of charge.

When?

It's never too early to have a child's development screened.

Developmental screening is available in the District of Timiskaming in some day cares and will soon be available in Kindergarten classes.

Why?

Research shows that a child's brain will develop more than 75% after birth, most of it before age five.

The earlier that a developmental problem can be identified, the better the chances are for a successful outcome.

Developmental screening doesn't label a child or provide in-depth assessment, but identifies possible concerns.

How?

Our developmental screening services are offered on a regular basis at various locations within the Temiskaming District area to children 18 months to school age.

Call 705-647-4305 or 1-866-747- 4305 for more information on our developmental screening services.
